The cool part is that anyone can be a coach! Be inspired to make new dishes based on what you see other people eating, or use it as a tool to eat healthier or monitor what you're eating to lose a bit of weight. As you start to use Food Feedback, what you will end up with is an amazing food diary, and hopefully some culinary inspiration and positive reinforcement.

By sharing images of meals, engaging with others and asking them to provide feedback on the food you're eating, you'll have a new way to stay connected with family and friends, your personal trainer, or other food fans interested in creating beautiful, healthy meals or improving or changing eating habits. We believe in the two-way conversation of learning from each other.

How does Food Feedback™ work and how will it help me?

Food Feedback is an app available on the iTunes store that is dedicated to creating community around health, beautiful food and nutrition. Simply take photos of what you eat, share it with a coach you select – whether it's a family member, friend, your dietician, trainer or someone you don't know – and get feedback!

You can keep track of your progress by using the unique Tracker correlating your food choices with your weight. Rather than counting calories or maintaining a traditional food log, Food Feedback takes advantage of the popularity of photo taking and sharing, allowing you to develop a sense of community and sharing – ultimately encouraging you to make healthier food choices.


Why use our Tracker?

It's a first-of-its-kind way to review the effects of your eating habits. The Food Feedback Tracker encourages regular input of your bodyweight. The food photos you take between weight entries will tell a visual story of how your choices impacted the scale. Give it a try to improve your results!


What are the benefits of having a "coach?"

Experts agree that those who engage with others when they're trying to lose weight or improve their eating habits will have more success than those trying to do it on their own. When you select a coach through Food Feedback, you're gaining access to a community of like minded people who will help you reach your goals. Whether your coach is someone you know, or someone you you've met through the app, you'll have daily access to their feedback!


What's my role as a coach?

On Food Feedback everyone can coach. Accepting an invitation and responding to someone's food photo is up to you. Whether your feedback is more direct and honest, or you are more of a cheerleader there is a place for you here and it's up to you to decide if someone's coaching is right for you. If the feedback isn't useful, you can easily select another coach, without offending anyone. We also have a 'Private Coach' setting where you can only be requested by name.


Why use Food Feedback vs. sharing via text or through existing social networks?

Let's be honest. Not everyone in your social network wants to see every photos of your food in same sense that you may not want to share every meal with all of them! Food Feedback offers a dedicated photo library of your food, and a record of your coach's feedback about those meals. It also provides a fun way to "share a meal" with those you do want to connect with about food. Engage others in the community with every morsel if you wish. Understanding what, when, and how you eat is such a valuable aspect of the Food Feedback journey!


Will Food Feedback give me ideas or recipes so I learn to eat more nutritious meals?

Yes! Through use of Food Feedback, you'll regularly see what meals others are eating. This may influence what food choices you're making, and will generate ideas related to new dishes you may want to seek out or create on your own.

The idea to start Food Feedback™ came from Denise Duffy. She tried dieting and was working hard at the gym, but she wasn't losing weight. She asked a trainer if she could share photos of her food. Once she started, she realized this process created a record, encouraged self-reflection and provided an opportunity for her trainer to actively help her with her diet. As a result of taking and sharing photos of her food choices, Denise lost over 25 pounds and decided she wanted to give others access to a community to be able to do the same.

Denise created Food Feedback with the vision of helping others find a way to improve their nutrition and overall health by making better food choices, and paying attention to what and how much they eat. Prior to founding the Company, she held a variety of positions, most recently leading the Marketing Research team at Northstar California Resort. Denise attended Rensselear Polytechnic Institute, graduating in 1995 with a Bachelors of Science in Science and Technology Studies. Denise lives in San Francisco and Lake Tahoe.
